BooyahCanada Glass falls to JF 0 Sep 11 2008, 10:26 PM EDT by BooyahCanada

On a night to remember those lost in the tragedy of 9/11, 2001, and to honor the Ol' Red White and Blue, the only flags the Cavalier offense was seeing were of the yellow penalty variety. And they saw them a lot. No one was hurt more by tough holding and personal foul calls than Big Six, a running back whose name escapes me. Not only did he have several long runs brought back due to penalty, but also had a TD taken away with 4:26 to go in the fourth.

The young man didn't let it phase him too much. He bolstered the brunt of the JF ground attack Thursday night, slicing through the Glass defense for a handful of dramatic rushes, and one TD, en route to a 20-0 stomping of the Hilltoppers. Rashaad Hall (#5) split carries with Big Six, and rushed for a touchdown of his own from 12 yards out early in the fourth quarter.

JF's kicker, #3, who showed tremendous leg strength throughout, handling the punting and kicking duties, booted two field goals from around 30 yards out, and gave the Cavaliers all the padding they would need to put away the victory, and reclaim the Black and Blue Bowl.

In this writer's opinion, there was really no question that the JF ground attack would prevail over the tough Glass defensive front. Though the Hilltoppers held strong in the first half, a strong showing by both Hall and Big Six, combined with some conservative play-calling by Glass coach Richard Trent, were enough to put another notch in the win column for the Cavs, who are now 3-0. Glass, on the season, now carries a record of 1-2.

-Note: E.C. Glass quarterback Joey Flores did not play the second half. When asked, Flores commented that he had fallen awkwardly on his left shoulder early in the first quarter, and simply could not carry on after the half.
